Did you know owning title to land has been identified as the single most important step for impoverished rural families in Colombia to fulfill economic and social empowerment?
The Fundación por la Educación Multidimensional (FEM) mission is empowering Afro-Caribbean and Indigenous women of the Bolivar region of Colombia to know and advance their rights in land title ownership.
This month FEM launched Project Lands Rights Forever, which will directly assist marginalized Afro-Caribbean families in the region of Bolivar in Colombia, which has been granted to them by the constitution. Yet, they don’t have the means or skills to pursue these rights.
FEM’s goal is give them this power by:
1. Working directly with local women as clients to help lead the process of land title ownership on behalf of their families and communities.
2. Partnering our clients with legal and accounting specialists in their network to help bring forward their case to the regional authorities.
3. Assisting clients with other areas of social, economic and cultural self-determination through partnerships with established agencies.
4. Financing all our work through a combination of donations, grants and social enterprise initiatives.
FEM’s goal 2023 is to raise US$30,000 to help 2 communities (1000 families) in the Canal Del Dique Region in Bolivar department of Colombia to pursue land title registrations.
Every $30 you donate will help ONE family out of poverty forever!
